I’m going out of town next week and I want to sync some movies to my phone so I can watch them while travelling. Unfortunately, whenever I try and sync a movie, it doesn’t transcode, just sits there with an error message. Any ideas on how to get it working?
My Plex server is an Nvidia SHIELD, and my phone is a Samsung Galaxy On5. My Plex apps are all up-to-date.
What is the error message? Can you grab server logs right after the message appears.
Do you hgave the space to do the sync?

It just shows a caution triangle on the movie I want to sync.
My logs are attached.

I should, I reserved about 4GB of space on my SD card. The raw MKV is 5GB, so the synced movie would definitely be smaller.
can you tell me what you’re trying to sync to make it easy to find in the logs.

“I, Robot” and “Minority Report” (two of my favorite movies).
No space avail on the server.

I’ll double check but I dont think you can use SD CARD for transcode storage.
Confrimed with dev’s it will only use the onboard storage no matter what.
Because the plex server is not really an app it’s built into the system, we’re working on trying to change that but at this point that’s how it is. Sorry.

It’s fine. I actually just ended up saving the raw MKV files to my computer for playback in MPC-HC.
