Can't update Plex on my TVS-882

Let me create a manual package for you and see what happens.

This will be a one-off QPKG and will not be signed. QTS will complain but allow you to continue.

Found out something else interesting. I download the Text Editor qpkg from the QNAP store and tried to install it manually and got the same error, that it couldn’t install, however it then installed it. Tried again with the Plex qpkg and just waited, but it still didn’t install.

OK. If the QNAP Text Editor won’t install then App Center’s files are damaged.

Is there any way to backup the media (everything else on the NAS) so you can factory reset? That’s what they will tell you is needed

Let them know that even QNAP apps won’t install.
You need the next tier up support.

I think I didn’t explain myself well enough. If I use the AppCenter QNAP store to install Text Editor it has no problem at all.

I went and downloaded the qpkg file for it from the web app store, saved it on my pc and tried to install using the Install Manually method, the same as I would do for Plex, by selecting the qpkg file in my downloads folder,

When I do the install I get the same error popup, but it still actually installs after a brief moment.

Hi Chuck,

Just an update for you. There was a firmware update for the NAS today and after installing it, I can now see an error when it tries to install. It says there isn’t enough space on the drive, which is false, there is plenty of room.

QNAP support connected into my NAS and has issued a bug report for the problem. This is also the error I get when trying to manually install other apps as well, so hopefully there will be a fix soon.

Yes I hope so.

For your sake, if you can find a way, I would start to make backups of the NAS contents - or, at minimum, make a list so you can recreate

I say this because they might very well want to perform a full factory reset to defaults.

If they do, I would not want you to lose anything stored on the unit.

Well Luckily I have all my media on other drives as well as on the NAS.
