For over a month everytime I try to use Plex through my TV it starts to load and then complains about disconnected network with what looks like a Vizio dialog. Other apps like Netflix work fine on the TV though. There is no getting past this. Can anyone help?
I’m going to suggest you try posting this in the forum for smart TV’s that are non-Samsung, found here: http://forums.plex.tv/categories/plex-for-smart-tvs-non-samsung. Make sure you include info like model number of TV, and if known, the version of the Plex App. This can help narrow down the problem.
There has been some issues with the Vizio app for some people. I have a Vizio E40 and have never had the problems others seem to have, but I have my own litany of issues… (volume not working while in a show, sluggish responses, losing the last 2-3 minutes of a show and a few other little things.) But at least mine seems to be working…
Couple of things you can try if you haven’t already: Try using the TV wired instead of wireless. Reset the TV to defaults and try reinstalling the app (and putting in the pin for it in your account again.)
My TV is wired to the same router (used as an AP in my network, and it’s wired to the main router.) as my PMS NAS is wired to. So for all intents and purposes, they are on a common wire… As this AP router is within a foot of the TV and the NAS I didn’t see a need to try WiFi… The TV is also set with a static IP, which may or may not be an contributing factor…
I tried posting in the channel specific to my TV a month ago and got no response so I’m trying here. The TV is already using wired network (wireless doesn’t seem to work well at all for any app).
How do you reinstall the app? I removed it from the TV and added it again but it never asked for the pin again so I assume it saved it somewhere.
Factory Reset in the settings on the TV itself should do this…
And as I said, I haven’t evr had any problems with connecting like some folks have, sorry…
I just did a full factory reset on the TV and after re-adding plex and entering my pin to connect … it did exactly the same thing. Still unusable.
