Everything works fine except I am not able to play mov or avi files. The only file type it lets me watch is mp4 which is flawless. I can see all the media and the menus work fine. I have reinstalled and rebooted both plea media server on my iMac as well as the plea app on the xbox one.
Did you create a custom 'Xbox One.xml' profile previously? If so, you'll need to delete it and try installing PMS again.
If not, please can you post some of your media server logs (https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200250417-Plex-Media-Server-Log-Files) so we can see where the problem might be.

I have not created a custom xbox one.xml profile. Not even sure how I would do that anyways. lol. Even with the new update to the server to 0.9.11 I can still only watch mp4 files. My PMS is installed on an iMac running the beta of Yosemite. I am not sure how to get the logs but I will try and figure it out using your link. I am very disappointed right now.

I just tried to play an avi file format and it just hangs there in blackness but if I hit B it will go right back to the menu.
How old is the iMac?
Just bought feb of 2013.
Please could you send me your log from when you attempt playback from the XB1? It looks like your posted snippet is from iPhone playback. I presume other devices playback the videos ok?

It's pretty embarrassing for Plex, but I've found that for files like this which don't play with the official plex app, they often play correctly using the "media player" DLNA media client that Microsoft provides in the XBone store. So I'd urge people to try that app if they're finding that the official XBone client is a let down. Obviously the generic DLNA client doesn't have all the functionality that the official client does, but hey, it actually plays things. ;)
Zyvod, that is weird. Since the Plex Dlna server ootb transcode most files to the Xbox one Dlna app. So I do think you have a custom Dlna plex in place. Maybe downloaded it from the forums?
Go to your profile folder and check if the Xbox-one.xml file time stamp matches the other profile xml time stamps.
Because really all mkvs and other files should play, some transcode, but they all should play.
Where is the profile folder that I could check?
