For the most part, the cast metadata for movies comes down without issue, but there are at least a couple of instances (that I’ve found so far) where cast metadata is mixed up. One example is the 1996 movie, “Fargo”. For “Fargo”, the cast is simply listed as “Fargo 1996”. I’ve tried manipulating and changing Movie Agents (“Plex Movie”, “The Movie Database”, “IMDb”), followed by a metadata refresh, but I can’t get the cast metadata to update.
Anyone have any thoughts on what I’m doing wrong or how to fix this?
Go to Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheTVDB
In there, grab the line ‘Local Media Assets’ with your mouse and drag it downwards, so it ends up being at the bottom of the stack of active agents.
Repeat the same under
Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheMovieDatabase
+
Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Plex Movie
+
Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - TheMovieDatabase
I couldn’t get the XML to display in Safari (Chrome worked after the fact), but it’s a moot point because following the instructions you provided, Fargo now has cast metadata associated with it! I ran through some of the other movies that had the same problem, and they’re all better now too.
When I try to Filter by Actor, many of the listings display actors concatenated by |, /, or ;. Some of the movies do not show all of the Cast members because the names are concatenated together. I looked at the file Properties, but they are empty. How is this happening. Thanks

Find a movie where such a concatenated actor appears.
Please post the Plex XML info of the movie.
They seem to be mixed up, as Paddington shows the wrong Will (Bad Boys) and when updating Metadata and the correct Will is shown, then Bad Boys, I Robot, … show the incorrect Will.
