I am a new Plex user, after Synology abandoned VideoStation.
I installed the Plex Package on my Synology NAS without problem.
I installed Plex on my iPhones and it works, I can see my movie library.
I have an old Sony Bravia connected TV that I want to stream content using my iPhone as a remote control. I can’t do it…

Casting via DLNA is not supported in Plex.
Your best option is to add an additional device to one of the HDMI inputs of the TV.
For instance a Roku, Google TV, or Apple TV device. All of which have supported real Plex clients.
