Would be great to be able to organise your library’s in a custom order Rather than A-Z for example: Movies, TV Shows, Photos, Music, News.

Also, you can use the drop down tab in the folder to organize by date, rating, duration etc. Does not do Genre or other main categories like that.

A crunchyroll plugin would be great! =)

Thanks

Tidal or Spotify so Plex can compete with ROON please. The music feature set REALLY needs a streaming partner so it can be an all in 1

Lulz, Plex compete with Roon? For starters, Plex would have to actually engage their own forums.
Then they would have to actually create a real music player. I suppose at that point they could at least be compared.

Dude, no offence but you’re so wrong… Just because YOU don’t appreciate this feature it doesn’t mean other people won’t.

https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/182322/req-tidal/p2

Just read all those comments… There IS an interest for this feature.

However, I wouldn’t like to see Spotify at all… I prefer Tidal intergration anyday because;

  1. FLAC is an pretty important factor for me. Spotify using MP3 quality while Tidal is using Lossless quality. I plan to get $8000 speakers Martin Logan speakers to my TV. I use my TV for movies, TV-shows AND music. No matter what others think or not think I hear difference between MP3 and FLAC and I done blind tests with other people (on expensive speakers) and most other people I asked (30 - 45 yo approx.) are able to hear an difference using blind tests. So, in my household there is ONLY FLAC. Tidal has an important selling point for me. There are far from only die-hard audiophiles and gadget geeks like me actually prefering high-res formats or at least ordinary lossless FLAC.
  2. Tidal has considerably more music in it’s library than Spotify has.
  3. IF we consider moral and ethics (just IF) then I heard Tidal is paying artists better than Spotify. I think that was one of the main ideas behind the platform.

I do also request this feature. I would also “die for” such impementation. PLEX Channel implementation? No! Plex Premium library implementation in a similar manor to ROON? YES!!

PLEX staff and devs… You kick some serious butt if you do this. What about a christmas gift!? Like Hardware acceleration ALPHA was last year? I think many users in the PLEX community would like the idea. As long as there are a good and nice implementation…

Just get a Google Play Music subscription. Superior LAME encoding and more music than Spotify and Tidal combined. Also, never said I wouldn’t like more services to be integrated. Just stating that Plex can’t be compared or “compete” as originally stated, to Spotify or Tidal or GPM, etc because Plex can barely be considered a music Player right now. It has a long way to go.
Genre mixes,
Mood mixes,
Endless Plex Mix/Radio mode,
Curated stations from your library,
Music discovery dashboard that doesn’t blow,
Podcast Rss feeds,
Audio book support,
Multi disc Album separation in UI,
Multi server support would be wise too. Should be able to create a single mix from multiple, shared music libraries,
Also needs a pop-out music player or toolbar extension for managing music queue and now playing,
They still don’t have a Party mode (crowd-sourced party mixes),
so many things to develop still.

Oh, and don’t forget, they owe us a functional SONOS service waaay before integrating Google Music into Plex, which will never happen anyway. They promised “SONOS+Plex Better Together” years ago.But it’s still an awful mess that rarely connects or stays connected for more than a song or two.

Hulu and netflix and bring back the optimization and conversion the program had before the update if they’re not going to bring back the optimization and and conversion I’d like to know where to get an older copy of Plex Server…

I know how you feel. Find myself thinking these guys don’t have a clue what they’re doing half the time. So many unfinished features and redacted functionality. Just today we were watching a movie on the Shield and discovered that they’ve completely removed the movie info from the overview screen. You can no longer view the Director, Cast, etc. Just row of awful rotten tomatoes reviews and similar movies. Keep up the great downward spiral guys! And for the love of God, release an official API already.

MoviesAnywhere plug in, Netflix plugin, SlingTV plugin.

Australian Free-to-air TV Stations: ABC iVew, Tenplay, NineNow, SBS On-Demand, 7plus

This isn’t really a feature, but a new player. I have a gear fit 2 watch that allows you to load apps. It also allows you to connect headphones and load music on the device and not need a phone whilst running. All my music is on Plex and I find it annoying to download on my phone then manualy upload it into the watch. It also lacks artwork etc.

It’s OS is tizen, like the TV OS. I would love a cut down Plex app that would allow me to sync/play music directly off my Plex account through the watch wifi or connecting to the phone app via Bluetooth

Spotify have an app and I suppose I could create clones of my playlists, but would love for all my music and playlists be through plex
Also as there are few apps it would be a great way to get more people using Plex. Am premium member and happy to beta test if you start to develop one

Audio book support

This has been a long standing request, and I really wish Plex woould take it more seriously. The alternative solutions for Audio Books are lacking. Everything from Audible to Booksonic have drawbacks. Native Plex support needs to be on the roadmap.

It would be really great to play the Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS files on Android TV.

Sharing playlist

Weather

One thing I really miss having recently migrated from Kodi is having weather as a menu option. In addition, via a addon I had access to the Australia Bureau of Meteorology radar (e.g. http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR713.loop.shtml).

Some might say “why? just look out the window or at your phone”, and yes, I could open the BoM app on my phone, but if I’m already looking at a screen to watch TV, it was very handy to quickly check the weather in case rain was coming and I had to get washing off the line (or whatever) before watching another episode of a TV Show.

  • Zoom for Photos (the no1 important function for a Photo Viewer)
  • Global Playlists or Playlist sharing
  • I dearly miss Spotify
  • At this point i’d consider fixing bugs also a feature ^^

PLEASE audiobook support… Please. It would be so simple to implement and make Plex a complete solution in my opinion. There is an entire market share of Audiobook fanatics, using dozens of jerry rigged solutions to accomplish a managed audio book solution. I think with fairly little effort plex could be that solution.

Not sure if this is in here, but Google Home Support! Now that you’ve got Alexa on it’s way, how hard can this be?

There’s a feature request already, go like the 1st post in the thread.

I am really sad, that Plex is completely forgetting about their own channel/plugins feature.
such channels/plugins as:
weather,
netflix,
youtube,
internet radiostations,
should be installed as default.
Kodi is way above plex in this, so is the Android TV, and other android based tv boxes, players.
Also support for Audiobook is missing.
Plex is becoming outdated files player.
Small support for devices that provide DVB-T services is not going to change it (Live TV).

What about plugin management - i.e. access lists or groups of plugins that are allowed per individual. In other words, allow the kidlets to see the ABC, NBC, History, Disney plugins and hide the ones they don’t have access to… That way plugins aren’t an all-or-nothing page.
