Casting from Android Device causes screen to turn on and off

I am able to stream to the device using the Plex App, but enabling casting to a Chromecast prior to starting a stream will cause the phone screen to turn on and off as if I’m pressing the power button repeatedly. The only way to fix this is to use voice commands with Google Assistant to killplex which must be done three times for Plex to actually stop running and the phone screen to stop spazzing out. Sporadically, I am able to cast to the Chromecast if I first start a stream on the device and then transfer the stream to the Chromecast. I believe this only works if the Chromecast is not currently running the Plex app.

Not a permanent solution but have been able to stop the looping sometimes by purging cache and editing the notification settings in the Plex app. This is not a fix as it only works some of the time and shouldn’t be necessary, but seems the issue has something to do with notification. But clearly this is a major issue that needs a quick stable solution ASAP. Edit: Also try blocking notifications from Plex completely, that seems to at least stop the looping.

Looks like it might be. I was trying to find notifications within the app to disable first, but was unsuccessful. Interesting that someone else is reporting a similar situation with a similar potential solution/source point for the bug.

I have the exact same issue with oneplus nord 2 and trying to play movie from android cast…

I’ve disabled all Android notifications for Plex and so far so good over two days of casting (enable casting then select the media).
