CCwGTV with Plex 8.29 lost ability to play surround sound

Hi. Latest Android 8.29 lost the ability to play 5.1 surround sound on my setup (CCwGTV plugged into lg-49UJ635V connected via HDMI to Sony HT-S20R) completely. I have logs of me trying for 30m to change every possible setting (on the TV, in Chromecast Prefs and in Plex) to no avail. It either plays LPCM 2.0 or gives An error occurred when attempting to play this video. Versions before 8.29 played the same file correctly in 5.1 in the same setup (although with a lipsync issue). Logs available at request.

The story has quite a long beard, basically now I cannot even have 5.1 with an unacceptable lipsync issue…
