CD cover thumbnails listed are all incorrect, and too many

I will use only one CD as an example for this, to illustrate my question. The Beatles’ album 1967-1970. The thumbnail that PLEX decided to display was an incredibly lo-res version of the She Loves You single cover from the Swan label. When I clicked on the pencil to change the thumbnail (poster) to the correct one, there were 120 images listed, none of which were correct, and most of which were not even The Beatles. What is going on, and how do I get rid of them??
