Since upgrading to 0.5.1 I’ve found that CEC has become even more unreliable. It often refuses to “detect” itself until I manually go in to the settings menu to force a refresh by changing arbitrary settings.
Once working again, after I’ve been on another TV input or it’s been switched off and on again, it again doesn’t respond to the TV remote until I use an app remote to stop all my media, navigate back to settings, etc etc.
Would love to get it working reliably!

If it’s any comparison. I have pi2 0.5.1. Controlled by CEC on my Sharp telly.
It works perfectly. Even adding Ned’s XML file to enable me to use the red/green/yellow/blue buttons to do info/context/subtitles etc.
I have the same problem: CEC unreliable with Raspberry pi 2, rasplex 0.5.1, and a Panasonic Viera P42ST50.
Raspberry pi B+ and 0.4.1 works reliably with the same TV and cables. I can't see what setting may be causing the problem and don't how know how to debug it.
Unreliable for me with Raspberry Pi 2, Rasplex 0.51 and Panasonic ST60 Plasma.
RPi 2, Rasplex 0.51, older Samsung LCD, CEC doesn't work at all for me (confirmed its enabled under preferences), but worked fine (albeit a bit slow) with the regular RPi model B.
Many apologies, missed reply notifications. My TV model is LG 42LM620T-ZE. Thanks in advance for support --- since updating to 5.1 Rasplex has gone from delightful with occasional niggles to constantly frustrating :-(
I’m so sorry to bump this again but I’m getting desperate!!
I can now reliably predict that every time I turn on my TV I’ve lost the ability to control Rasplex. I need to manually reset CEC every time. Driving me mad!!!
Any pointers on fixing this will be repaid with the finest electronic cookies and palpable gratitude 
Had a little change for me. Unplugging my TV for 10 minutes reset my CEC and it started to work intermittently. In my case, if I turn on my TV after an extended period of inactivity and its already on the CEC input of Rasplex, CEC doesn't work. However, if I change the input to something else, then back to the CEC input of Rasplex, I'm back in business. YMMV, but that seems to work for me and my 6 year old Sammy.
