CentOS 8 Server Lost Configuration

Server Version#: 1.24.4.5081
Player Version#:

Following a reboot and new drive install upon starting up Plex has decided that it doesn’t know who I am anymore. I logged in on the local web page and found I had to set up for the first time. Please can I get some assistance to get the previous configuration back at all? Please let me know if you need any information :slight_smile:

There is a small chance I’ve managed to fix this by just putting in the server name again (it is different to the server hostname because it was migrated to this new server), currently testing and will update.

OK that hasn’t worked, it’s treating it as a brand new server. I think there is a chance that the Preferences.xml file has a different machine ID in it following the disk change that has caused this. Is there any way I can recover an old version of Preferences.xml in order to match it to the old server?

@uberginge

please advise if you wish to keep this open or close given the SSL Certificates thread activity OR if this is a separate issue ?

Thank you for replying. I initially thought it was a SSL issue but this is a different issue. I am currently powering up the original server to see if I can pull the Preferences.xml file from it to see if that will bring it back to life.

OK I managed to get an old copy of the Preference.xml file and it works now. Is it worth getting my logs uploaded at all to see what caused it to ignore those files in the first place?
