Certificate error

Server Version#: 1.16.2.1297-4b7ace214
Player Version#: Web browser

Hi,

New install of Plex on my Synology NAS as I’m getting a certificate error when visiting:
https://myhostname.synology.me:32400/web (changed the myhostname for privacy).

I have the SSL cert setup in synology and can access DSM securely with no errors so it appears Plex is not using the certificate from my NAS.

Can this be applied?

Thanks.

Plex uses its own certificate.
You can also inform PMS of your Synology’s cert but DSM won’t be in control of PMS. It will be subordinate.

If this is a new installation (not yet completed claiming), you cannot use the WAN redirector from Synology. Remote setup, unless SSH-tunneled, is not permitted. It was done this way to protect your server in the event it ever gets signed out of your account through some fluke in software update or remote internet provider outage.

There is a great deal of discussion on certificates with Synology. May I invite you to search for a few and review the different ways others have implemented?

Hi Chuck,

Thanks pal. I had looked and found a script which seemed to work for others but I didn’t seem to get it working for me so thought I’d ask.

If it’s not important I’ll just leave it.

Many thanks for the reply and hope you are well
