@OttoKerner Can you please fix mine as well? Iā€™ve been struggling to figure out whatā€™s causing this, I shutdown my server overnight hoping this morning would resolve on start but it hasnā€™t. The cert expired yesterday and it wonā€™t renew. Below log every 20 minutes before I shut it down.

My serverā€™s certificate is also expired and the renewer is stuck in a 429 loop. Iā€™ve masked details below but can DM the full machine identifier and account email on request.

Server details:

  • machineIdentifier: 029c0bā€¦e0fc
  • Plex version: 1.43.1.10611-1e34174b1 (Linux)
  • Cert expired: ~2026-05-17

Plexā€™s renewer detects the expired cert and requests a new one, but plex.tv returns 429 on CSR upload. Server remains stuck at ā€˜Mapped - Not Published (Not Reachable)ā€™. The web UI works via the web app (app.plex.tv), but native apps (ios) cannot connect because of the expired cert. Restarting Plex does not clear the rate limit.

Hi! Same problem here. Iā€™m getting the Cert 429 error.

Server details:

  • machineIdentifier: 4d69972d2012d618e94d99962db2ce599643d9d1
  • Plex version: 1.43.1.10611

If you could fix it, I would be grateful.

[mod edit: Youā€™ve had 6 new certs delivered to you in short succession. Before, you also requested a new certificate every ~10 days. So check if you are doing something wrong, like completely emptying out the cache folder. Now you are rate-limited. Shut down your server for at least 12 hours, then start it back up. Donā€™t clear out the whole /Cache folder within your plex data folder when experimenting.]

Seems to me that Plex has some sort of serious issue going on with their end. They should at a minimum be posting an announcement about WTF is going on and what theyā€™re doing to remedy it!

pretty much, yes. I am presuming something really got borked on the plex backend given the number of people seeing this error.

I am also having the same problem. I canā€™t even access the server through the web interface now. It went from fine, to visible only on the local network to not visible at all.

Where do we go from here?
