Change date format

Can someone please tell me how to change the date format in Plex server and player? Mine is locked to US mm/dd/yy format and it is driving me crazy, I need to change it to something that makes sense. I have looked in all of the settings but I can’t find it.

What is your language setting? It depends on that.

I’ve set everything I can to English (UK)

Which parts are showing the US format?

I know that all the online services (news, podcasts, web shows) & the DVR have it set to US with no way of changing it (been reported in the past)

Anywhere a date is displayed. For example TV episode aired date etc. I do not use the news/podcasts/webshows/DVR function.

I can see the Aired Date and the dates in the EPG in proper format in my language.
Which means there are strings in the translation project which can be reformatted.

Unfortunately I am not a member of the EN-UK translation team, so I cannot change them myself.
I can merely point any members of that project to some string numbers:
2370, 2371 and 2394–2397 in the ‘Web Clients’ project https://www.transifex.com/plex-1/plex-web/dashboard/

The above link is for the Plex web app and all the smart TV apps and Plex Media Player.
There might be similar strings in other translation projects for other Plex clients types.

Plex Media Player embedded also shows month-day format with no option to change in there.

As I’ve said above: this can be only changed by members of the EN-UK translation project.

Thanks for the help. I’ve joined the EN_GB translation team and have made the changes. Do you know how long it takes for these to propagate into the main release?

It can take several weeks. Translations are only pulled in larger intervals.
