Change to non-US date formats

Hi, I posted a bit over 4 years ago about changing the date format in Plex interface to something localised since month/day/year doesn’t make sense to anyone in the world apart from USA.

It was recommended that I looked at submitting the translations for English (UK) language myself which I did, and it would take a few weeks to pull the changes in. But now it’s 4 years later and still it’s impossible to have anything other than “March 24, 2023” etc. See original post here: Change date format

Will this ever be fixed? It seems like such a simple thing to do that would probably take one engineer about 10 minutes!

The last time I’ve checked this it was indeed possible to have a logical date format.
Please show some screenshots of the places where you are still encountering American date formats.
And please verify that the language setting of your Plex client app is indeed set to “English (UK)”.

Language is set to English (UK) and Chrome browser is also set to English (UK):

Also Plex on Nvidia Shield which doesn’t seem to have a way to set region/language in the app, although the Shield itself is set to English (UK):

I am in the UK and can confirm the same behavior across Plex Web, NVIDIA Shield 2019 Pro and HTPC clients.

However it seems that Plex for Android mobile is correctly displaying an item as 23 March 2023

It’s a different client type than Plex Web or Web TV above. It is localized independently.

I can confirm the missing localizations from the screen shots above.

Yes I can also confirm the Plex Android app on my phone is showing dates correctly. Can you let me know where the translations are that I need to make? I spent about an hour going through the various projects on Transifex last night and couldn’t find any other than the one I’ve already done.

I have to enquire with the developers about these locations. It may very well possible that they are not yet localizable in the source code.
