Change Email Address - not working

I’ve decided I want to change my email address. I can’t do this, so I’m here to ask if there is a method I’ve missed. I go Account Settings/Personal Information. Here I can change the email address but it will not stick as when I put in a new email and a new password and ‘save changes’, I get an ‘invalid password’ error.

What is the correct procedure to change the email address and the associated password?
