I am trying to change the email account on my plex account, but it’s not working.
When I go to https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/account and click the “edit” link on the Email Address field, it comes up with two boxes. one for the email addy, the other for the account password. I enter the new email address I want to use, as well as my current password and press “save changes” and it looks like it works on it for a sec, then reloads the page and nothing has changed…
I don’t get an error message (unless i put in the wrong password, then it won’t let me “save”)…
Am I missing something obvious oooor?
It’s possible the Web client isn’t providing the proper feedback. Please note that emails need to be unique. If you are trying to use an email that is on an existing account, that won’t work.
Edit - as a test, try changing it to another email and see if that works.
Apparently I had created another account at some point in the past with the “other” email I was trying to switch to so that’s why it wouldn’t let me.
As for not showing an error message in the GUI when trying to make the change? That’s pretty poorly coded part of the system I guess. Basic error messages shouldn’t be a luxury to hope for. Sigh.
