I’m a music-first user of Plex. I add music every week from CD rips to my NAS. When Plex is behaving itself it works fine, though sometimes a rescan or a glitch means the entire library gets scanned resulting in an alphabetical order of “Recently Added” - not when I ripped the album. Sad face. It would be great to be able choose the “Date Created” or “Date Modified” tag from the file system instead. That way I would not lose this really valued sort order. Thanks.
Settings - Server - Library - “Empty trash automatically after every scan” = OFF
Thanks @OttoKerner - if I understand that setting will prevent future problems, but I will not be able to recover the order added though - correct?
Also, most users will have ripped their collection before getting started with Plex - in which case reading the last “date created” file for each album would be really welcome.
