Sorting Music Albums by Date Added

Is it possible to manipulate the Date Added sorting function for music? My music files have a custom tag with a timestamp of when I originally acquired the music in my lifetime.

  1. Ideally, I would like Plex to use this tag when sorting albums by date added. Is that possible? I can change the name of the tag if needed.

  2. If not, is it possible for me to organize my music files in such a way that Plex will add them to the library in a specific order?

No.
You can only do this:
Give the files and folder of a particular album the “created at” and/or “modified at” timestamp of when you acquired it.
Now when you create a new library in Plex and you add the whole music to that library during the creation of that library, Plex will use the file dates as its own “Added at”.
But only then.
