Changes Coming to Plex on Fire TV

The rollout has officially started! As this release begins to hit your Fire TVs, please take a moment and test it out. If you have questions, bugs to report, or additional constructive criticism, don’t hesitate to post here in the forums!

There are some known issues we’re currently working to address:

  • Similar to the previous app, direct playing / streaming high bitrate personal media content on older or lower end devices may buffer frequently. You can adjust your Local Quality setting in the Video & Audio menu to transcode for a better experience on these devices.
  • In some situations search can occasionally take a while to complete and feel unresponsive but will eventually return results.
  • Selecting an external subtitle for a personal media file while playing may restart the title from the beginning in some circumstances.
  • Music playback won’t proceed to the next item in the queue while the device screensaver is on.

Thank you for being a part of the Plex Community!

How to give feedback?

  • What you were doing when the issue happened
  • Whether it’s reproducible (Meaning, can you make it happen again and again?)
  • Bonus: Save the logs from your app right after you reproduce/encounter the issue and attach them to the forum topic (Fire TV Logs Support Article)
  • Bonus Bonus: Pics or videos
  • Extra bonus: If something is fixed, let us know in your topic—it helps us close the loop
