You can do that. Or you switch to the “header editor” mode of mkvtoolnix and edit the file’s headers directly. No replacing necessary, since the file is changed in-place.

You don’t want to send your file repeatedly through Handbrake. Particularly not for something trivial like changing track titles. Because every time the quality will get worse. Download and install MKVtoolnixGUI and make yourself familiar with it. For changing a whole series of files of the same …

Thanks…I use it often for merging tracks from different files. Didn’t know I could rename. I’ll give it a look.

So from what I can surmise, I’m changing the name of the track and then just reoutputting it to replace the original file? At least that’s what worked with the first file I tried.
