Hello - I currently have 2 media servers that were setup during the initial installation. 1 is my PC and the other is a NAS device. Whenever I start up any of the apps that I use, the server seems to default to my PC name which is always in a powered down state unless actually needed. This causes me to get an “no network”, or “server unavailable” error. I’ve discovered that as soon as I turn the PC on and retry an app, plex comes back on but is defaulted to my PC name as the default server. If I change to my NAS server in the server selection drop down, all apps will work fine. My question is can this default server be changed from my PC name to my NAS name so that whenever an app is activated it will look for the NAS instead of my PC first? This should hopefully solve my errors and allow me to use plex without first powering up my pc. Thank you in advance for any help.
You mean be able to prioritize the server list on a client, ie: order them however you want?
TY for the reply Keg. I believe that is what I’m attempting to do. Sorry, still fairly new to this product and learning it. At the top right of any app is a drop down with my 2 servers. If I drop that down, I can switch between them. My problem seems that when I turn on an app, the default is always my PC. I’d like to change that so that my NAS becomes the default that an app looks for first when it starts up.
Are the names in alphabetical order? I don’t know how it’s sorted, but if that looks to be the case, maybe you can rename the Plex servers?
Names are in alphabetical order however the last one was being defaulted to. During my latest use session I received an error that I hadn’t seen before. I logged out and back in to my account and once done My NAS now defaults to the primary server which was what I needed. Now my errors on startup have stopped and everything has been working good so far. Thank you!!!
