Channel Connect is a Plex companion app for Android TV. Once installed, your Android TV home screen will be filled with rich rows of media populated by your Plex library.
Features include:
• Play Next <—> On Deck auto sync. Sync’s your On Deck row with Android TV’s Play Next row.
• View movies and tv trailers right from your home screen
• 14 different types of channels such as New Movies, New TV, Top Rated, and more (with more on the way)
• Extra landscape art for a more modern Android TV experience (provided by TMDB)
• Mark media as played right from the Play Next row (“remove from play next” will mark it as played in Plex. This can be disabled from the settings)
• Basic Music library support (with enhancements planned)
• Various personalization features to help tailor your experience.
Plus more features are planned such as Plex collection’s support, deeper music library integration and whatever else I, or you, can think of!
Channel Connect is only compatible with regular versions of Android TV, therefore, the app is not compatible with Chromecast with Google TV devices. I’ve submitted a request to Google to enable support for the Play Next row on Chromecast devices, but I have no idea if / when they will approve.

Nicely done; looks great from the screenshots and comments here and the Reddit thread. I might have missed how within the setup wizard, but is there a way to use this if you don’t use a Gmail account for your plex.tv login?
HI, installed it with Nvidia Shield Pro and don’t see the “add channels” stuff. I was wondering if the fact I have a separate email for anything google and a different email for my plex account might be an issue? I installed using my google account, linked to my Plex account using my Plex email account. But nothing “happens”. I actually have a small group of emails I use for various things, so in case one gets wacked, not everything becomes vulnerable. I can see by teh post above I’m not alone in this… Thanks
So the google login at the beginning is logging into my app. I use this to create your account and start the free trial. However, after that you will see the standard plex PIN login, with which you’ll log in to your plex account. At this step you simply visit the url shown on screen (via your smartphone or desktop browser) and enter the pin. Whichever plex account is logged in on your browser will be linked to my app. Hope that clears things up!
