I can be watching something in plex and randomly it will start buffering and stop working and i have to get out of live tv and go back in for it to work. but if i watch it thought the hdhomerun to my tv app it works fine. I’d really like to know if there is something i need to change for that to stop happening.

Yes.
I have Roku and Firestick does the same for me. It even happens when streaming straight to my computer. 10 gig lacp (20gig) on the server to 10gig network. I even tried to use xTeve and put an IPTV and the HDhomerun on it and that works fine to my computer but in plex it buffers randomly. I set it to 8mb buffer so plex wouldn’t have to and plex still buffers.
Same. I can stream to xTeVe and it won’t buffer, but once you stream it from Plex… garbage. Constant buffering every 10 seconds or so. I am a network engineer and the paths to xTeVe and Plex are exactly the same.
Live tv use to be great on plex but now that they have switched steaming their own stuff live tv has gone way down and just sits on their back burner. It sucks that they don’t care about us. Starting to look into emby but don’t want to pay money just to find out its no better than plex.
Check out Channels DVR. It’s amazing. I know it’s not within the same app, but I highly recommend it.
