I have the plex client on 2 computers and 1 smart Samsung TV, on one particular computer when I playback almost any HD videos the playback is quite choppy. When I play these same files back in VLC it plays fine without breaking a sweat. I’ve tried multiple versions of the Plex for Windows app thinking it’s just a bug the newest version will fix but so far no luck. I tried the older Plex Media Player and it plays fine on that same computer, so it’s something related to the Plex for Windows app specifically. I’m doing direct play, these are MKV files ripped with MakeMKV. Any ideas? The computer with the issue is older machine with an Intel i3-3120M and Intel 4000 onboard graphics (latest drivers). I’m not convinced this is a hardware issue though.
