Chromecast Audio playlists not working (Beta 6.15.0.3852)

Beta 6.15.0.3852, Chromecast Audio playlists not working, plays only the first track.

Reproduced on 3 different devices.

Albums play okay.

Tried but cannot reproduce. Can you explain a little more deeply what is happening?

This is what I did:

  • Created a Playlist from a music album
  • Played the Playlist
  • Checked that in the Play Queue Viewer (the icon next to the cast icon in the mobile audio player) I have the complete PL, and not just one item
  • Seeked until almost the end of the song, and waited until next song started
  • Next song played perfectly.

Also, if you can check:

  • Does it only fail with Chromecast Audio, or also with Chromecast TV? (I don’t have CC Audio, so tried with TV)
  • Does it only fail when playing from the Android App, or from any other Apps too?

Based on your questions I have completed the following testing:

  • Newly created unsaved playlists work fine.
  • Newly created saved playlists can be re-loaded and work fine.
  • Playlists that were created ~6 months ago no longer work, only the first or half a second track is played when cast to Chromecast.

This was tested with ChromeCast Audio via the Android App, iOS 16bit app, Windows 10 Chrome browser, with the same results.

The old playlists play fine locally via Android App, iOS 16bit app, Windows 10 Chrome browser, seems to be a casting issue.

The above was all tested on Chromecast Audio.

I then tested casting to Chromecast TV, old playlists work fine on the Android App, iOS 16bit app and Windows 10 Chrome browser.

Therefore, looks to be an issue with the Chromecast Audio casting code.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or whether I can provide any logs etc?

Thanks. There’s some chromecast work in progress, which will probably fix this. Will let you know if we need more logs.
