Chromecast Audio Not Working

I set up Chromecast Audio on my home network, and it works perfectly with Google Play Music on Android. However, it doesn’t work with Plex on Android.

From the Cast button in Plex, I see that it does pick up my Chromecast Audio device, and it can connect to it OK (as signaled by an audio prompt). However, whenever I want to cast a song, it simply can’t start, that is, the Play button is always in the “Paused” state (the triangle icon), and even if I click the play button, the song still can’t be played.

But when I disconnect Chromecast Audio from Plex, the same song can be played on my Android. (The song is from my PMS on a Windows PC.)

So to recap:

  • It works with Google Play Music, so my Chromecast Audio (and my home network) setup is working.
  • Plex can play songs on the Android app locally, so my PMS setup is fine.

Can someone help me troubleshoot this?
