Every time I shut off my iPad while streaming, and or open another window. I have to reconnect to my Chromecast. This has only been for the last 2 app updates.

Are you using the browser rather than the iOS app?
I’m using the app on my iPad. The show will keep playing if I open another app or web browser. But when I go back to the Plex app… I have to once again click on the Chromecast and the show shuts off and then goes again
When I say open another window… I meant open another app. It’s extremely annoying that Plex just won’t stay playing or even pause when having to open something else.
Ok thank you. I could not get it to stop when leaving app or closing my iOS device, but I could reproduce opening up the app again and needing to reconnect if i want control again.
Can I ask how long you remain in other app before going back to Plex. I was able to reproduce once the other day when I replied but as I try again it does not happen. Can’t figure out what I am missing in steps to reproduce.
I am connecting to CC and playing something
closing Plex app by pressing home button
opening browser and got to some website
close browser by clicking home button

Usually it happens after approximately 3-5 minutes?. I have also paused Plex. Hit the home button, and used safari. Then gone back and have to hit stream again
Tried it again. Hit pause. Hit home button… open safari… checked this page for any replies. went back to Plex and it restarts, and I have to hit the stream and pick my show again.
Extremely annoying.
OK thanks for info. I forgot to ask you which version of iOS is on your iPad. and thanks for letting me know you were paused . I can get to to do it if i pause and leave app for a few min but not if I let it keep playing
My iPad is at IOS 15.3. It weird mine will keep playing while I do other things. But then when go back to Plex it restarts, and I have to hit the stream button and choose my show again
is it possible to get your iOS logs after you go back to app and it reloads. (while you leave it playing, I have my own logs from when it is paused )

I was able to get my wife to try and get the log??
She wasn’t able to get it to stop while surfing??. but was able to get it to do it when she closed the ipad while it was running. she figured it was about 20 min

I did but did not see anything obvious to me that caused it while playing. I made a bug report for devs to look into though I can’t promise an ETA
Now with the latest update. I can’t even get it to be able to stream!! It’s like it’s in slow motion??.
I was able to delete the app and re-download it. Everything is back to the way it was before. Still have to restart streaming if I pause it.
I might be able to help reproduce… while playing, with phone locked, wake phone (do not u lock) and hit pause.
Wait for phone screen to go to sleep.

So I guess this issue isn’t a priority?? Disappointing
So another update is out, and still nothing to fix the Chromecast?. Is there anything we can do to have the dev team fix the issue?
