I’m having issues casting to chromecast. The scenario that is causing an issue is when using subtitles. From the top of my head it’s at least when using external subtitles, can’t remember any occurrence with embedded.
The issue starts to become noticeable after 15-20 minutes, after that it increased in frequency until the stream starts buffering more and more and subtitles start to drift more and more…
I’ve looked through the Plex Media Server.log and found a strange occurrence based on searching for “Speed =>”. It jumps from 10.x, all the way up to 20.x+ sometimes, and then for one or two entries it’s 0.0 and then back again to 10.x+.
When looking at the log i also find the following line: “[TranscodeOutputStream] Waiting 100ms for more data”.
What might be causing this?
Plex Server is running on:
Windows 10 Professional
12GB Ram
AMD Athlon II X4
Router is a Asus RT-N56U, about 2 meters from the Chromecast.
This has not been an issue before, i think this started to emerge about 1-2 months ago, or perhaps a bit longer.
I’ve been using plex for 2-3 years and this computer has been used all the time.
I’ve also tried using an older video file that i know i’ve been watching earlier just to see if it was something to do with the newer things, but nope.
I’ve tried:
Moving transcoding temporary folder, turning off encryption, lowering the quality to 2mps…
Any hits or tips is appreciated…
