Chromecast with Google TV 4K HDR Unstable Playback

I’m having issues with 4K HDR content streaming from my server to the Chromecast with Google TV native plex app. 4K SDR content is fine, 1080 HDR works fine, 1080p files with a higher bitrate than the problem files also work fine. It’s just 4K HDR files that don’t work, and none of them work.

When played, the wheel stutters and the files start but stutter or play in lower than 5 fps. Audio can be heard fine.

My WiFi connection is 5GHz, 180Mbps Excellent strength. But the fact that higher bitrate 1080p files play fine rules out signal quality as the problem anyway.

I can play these problem files on my desktop and phone so it’s not a problem with my server. CCwGTV supports HDR 4K so I think this is an issue with plex.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have SDR or HDR tv? It seems for some reason CCwGTV doesn’t utilize hardware decoder for 4K HDR files when connected to SDR TV

same problem. 4K HDR files are constantly buffering every 2 to 3 seconds. everything else works fine.
