Not sure what logs to pull as this isn’t a server issue. I have a CCWGTV → HDFury Arcana → Sonos/TCL 2018 75R615
Direct Play of 4k content via the PlexApp works but when you add in TrueHD it just sits in a perpetual state of buffering. However, If I cast from my phone - all is well. I’ve read some fragmented posts in various forums but I’ve yet to see a resolution, just bandaids that ultimately leads to giving up one or the other just to watch the content; not ideal.
Any updates here? What’s the deal?
know issue, turn off HDMI pass through and you will get pcm audio out.
For some reason plex thinks the receiver i have it connceted to cannot handle Dolby TrueHD sound.
Thanks but then I’m losing the metadata for Atmos which is more of a bandaid then anything else. If I cast from my phone, everything works fine, so this is isolated only to the Plex App on CCWGTV
i am hoping someone from Plex side looks at this thread and works on a fix for it.
Same issue, though I’ve got a 10yo Yamaha sound bar and an equally old Sony 1080p TV, but just bought a Chromecast w GoogleTV, and I’m getting all sorts of repeated buffering for even a 1080p HEVC H.264 Main 4.0 (7.8Mbps) MKV video with AAC stereo audio. My Plex server is my Synology NAS, and it’s 8yo so I would like it not to transcode in real-time; rather, I was hoping the Chromecast could do any conversion necessary.
Would moving to Ethernet help? Many have suggested it won’t be their Wi-Fi speeds are already good enough.
Sorry for the extremely late response. I’m ethernet to the CCWGTV already. I’m willing to bet Emby would have no issues…that’s starting to become the norm in my migration adventures. I ended up dropping 200 for the Shield and calling it a day.
