I saw the recent beta update of the Android TV player disables DTS passthrough. I just wanted to say that I am able to play DTS files directly on this device with no issue. So the device itself does support DTS audio. I think the plex player just needs to send it down. Not sure why it would be disabled. I have had a hard time finding definitive specs for this device, and DTS isn’t mentioned in the audio settings, but I definitely know that DTS files work.
You are the first to report that DTS works. Are you sure it was using Passthrough?
When I say it works I mean dts works outside of Plex. I have a sample file I copied to the device and I played it there with VLC media player. So the device can play DTS audio.
VLC is different. It uses software decoding to bypass whatever the hardware can/can not do.
Well I learned something today. Thanks for the clarification.
