I am having issues where the program will play but I cannot get the onscreen controls to come up. Which means I can not select subtitles or change quality on the fly etc.
Is a anyone experiencing similar issues?

Yes. This started for me as well. Can’t pause, etc.
I did some messing around in the settings, and it seems to be OK now. I found this combo of settings seemed to sort it out for the time being.
Open plex on Google TV.
go to settings and down to advanced
Refresh rate switching = On
Resolution Switching = Off
But also the plex app has updated so that could have fixed it
Mine did this too. I had to disable resolution switching as well to fix it
It still happened on a 4k video a couple days ago. At least it rarely happens now after disabling the screen resolution matching.
