Hi. I’m hoping this will be easy.

I keep my music library on a Mac, mostly in ALAC format so that it works with iTunes. I also share said library using Plex. However, when I play ALAC content, it keeps getting transcoded to 192 Kbps MP3, which would be just about my last choice. I’m hosting the client on Chrome 57 Beta, which it supports FLAC. Is there a way I can teach Plex the error of its ways?

Also, does anyone know whether the mobile clients support FLAC?

FLAC is not yet supported in the Web App. For mobile clients, it depends on the device. The app does support it.

Chrome now supports FLAC. Time to make this work, maybe? There are ton of requests for this feature going way back in time in the “features voting” section.
