This is a long-standing bug in multiple clients. I checked Web and Mac OS.
Visit a Collection page and use the buttons within to configure the collection to appear as a line item on a Recommended page. Once you do so, all of the contents of the Collection disappear from the page you’re viewing. Solely a display issue, no unwanted Collection config changes occur. Browsing away and back shows the normal Collection content display.
