Collection Level Extras?

I have some things that aren’t really movies of TV shows that I would REALLY like to have as part of my Star Wars “Collection.” For example, “George Lucas in Love”, “Troops”, “Sith Apprentice” and other things collected from the internet over the years. I know I could add them to a specific MOVE in the collection, but I would much rather have them appear at the Collection level so that they show as additional Star Wars related items (which they are) rather than extras for a specific movie.

Also, I don’t know where to send a feature request for the Plex forums themselves, but I notice that the search feature does not appear to work well, or at least not the way I expect. I tried searching for “collection extras” (minus the quotes) and got 60 matches. I decided to shrink the list by changing the search to “collection extras feature”, expecting that the list of matching that had all three words would be smaller – but that search returned 100 matches! I don’t think defaulting (or limiting?) the search box to ANY of the words without any option to require ALL of them is very helpful. The more I try to narrow a search, the wider it gets.

you can have a separate (movie) library… let’s call it “Bonus Content” and create a Star Wars collection there. This way, the content will show up in your Star Wars (main movies) collection’s pre-play screen (same as you can “combine” star wars movies and tv shows by having them in a same-named collection.

I have organized e.g. my Marvel One Shots this way and have them displayed as related content in my MCU collection (ok… admittedly they’re in my “Shorts” movie library – but close enough ;))

Thanks! Not really what I’m looking for, but it might be a work around (I already have about 30 libraries so what’s one more?) Also, while I think I understand what you wrote the attached image does not appear to relate to your response as it does not show anything like that I referenced (i.e. fan produced extras downloaded from YouTube or similar things.) In fact, it looks much like my Star Wars collection (minus The Clone Wars plus the soundtrack album  ) I kinda expected to see an image of your Marvel collection, if anything. And on that note, I now need to start scouring my Marvel discs for the One Shots so that I can add them to my collection, too! (damn you! )

Apologies… I just picked an existing screenshot from the support articles.
Technically it’s the same… in the pic, „The Clone Wars“ and the soundtrack appear on this screen because they’re assigned to the same Star Wars collection tag.

Works also for Pixar movies / shorts or regular X-Men movies vs. special cuts like „Days of Future Past - Rogue Cut“ (if in separate libraries).

here you go

Thanks for the idea. It has kinda worked. Not really what I wanted, because my extras ended up showing as vodeis even though I told Plex to create a movie library, so no posters. Even more strangely, when I tried to add the new “Collection Extras” library for other users, Plex keeps giving me a dark red popup message with nothing by an exclamation point and the number 500 in it. Needless to say, this is somewhat less than helpful. And yes, I did reboot the machine and try again, with the exact same results. And finally, while this method works for the web interface, all of my other users have Rokus, and it seems the Plex app for Roku doesn’t support the ‘joined’ collections. That means that my original request still stands… I wish that a collection object could have its own folder full of extras. Just like a movie object.
