Collections are a great thing for videos, mainly for my personal videos. It allows me to filter them easily, especially when most videos share several collections. Something impossible with folders !
This is the main reason that tags became very popular for ordering and filtering, slowly replacing folders in many places.
Now comes photos on plex and there… we don’t have many options beside classical folder albums. It would have great to add collections too, and it’s not that difficult to do. Extending database for photos, and a few fields in UI, and that’s it.
Surely, I could live without it, but Plex is great in several domains, and I really want it to be the best companions for my medias.
