Collections tab broken on Plex Media Player

For some reason after the Apr 29, 2021 update, the collections tab in my movie library no longer works and shows the same view as the library view. I uninstalled the app, deleted the %AppData%/Plex folder and reinstalled the app. The same thing happens.

I pulled out my laptop which I had not used in a while and the opened the Media Player which was still on version 1.18.xx. The collections tab worked as it should. When I updated the the app to the version above, the same thing happened where the collection view no longer functioned properly and was basically the same view as the library view.

This is only happening in Plex Media Player. The web player works fine as well as the Android app.

There’s an even newer version of PMP, now called Plex HTPC. Get it from the Downloads page at Media Server Downloads | Plex Media Server for Windows, Mac, Linux, FreeBSD and More.

Edit - Oops. Plex HTP is not available from the download page, that is still PMP. Plex HTPC can be obtained from this forum post Introducing Plex HTPC!.

@jenlychen as an fyi… I’m still using PMP version 2.58.0 → Plex Media Player - #105 by pcalves and collections are working from what I can see.

I have noticed a similar problem for the last few days. However my problem only occurs in the version of the app found here: https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/, not in my Plex Server browser app, Xbox One app, my LG TV apps, my Android app, nor even in the stand alone desktop version of the app.

The Music Library Collections Tab is visible but clicking it does nothing but re-display exactly the same stuff as it’s Library Tab. All other Library Collections such as Movies etc are displaying fine, just the Music Library Collections are not. Have tried all I can to make it work (refreshing, signing out/in, restarting Plex Server on my NAS) but all to no avail.

Seems definitely like a bug in the browser version of the app at least.

That is actually Plex for Windows, not PMP. I juts checked and Collections are working fine for me. Going to need more details.

I can’t reproduce this issue with the hosted Plex Web either (that’s what app.plex.tv is referred to).
