Custom Mix Builder, to me, is a game changer in the music streaming app space. PLEX Amp takes this to a level not seen in other streaming app. I have enjoyed having a choice when using it to play the custom mix or play the radio of what is chosen.
I have created over 200 playlists (many of them smart playlists). Would it be possible to have playlists come up in a custom mix search for artists and the playlists I have created that contain their songs? Thereby combining the playlists and mix in some other things to the custom mix.
This would also be helpful if perhaps someone created playlists volumes … example … Dance Songs Of The 90s Part One (50 Songs), and Dance Songs Of The 90s Part Two (50 Songs) and having the ability to combine them into the custom mix.
Mix Builder right now is all client-based, and unfortunately computing all the playlists which might apply would be a very expensive operation on a client. It’s a very cool idea in general, though, so we appreciate you sharing it!
Thanks Elan for the feedback … but being client side built that’s understandable …
A little adjustment in the suggestion?
Maybe we could just have a search and playlists that contain the keywords come up in the results … which search currently does … maybe add the ability to add those search results of the playlists to be added or built into a mix? Much like an artist now comes up in search results and they can be added to a custom mix.
Example. I have created a playlist of my favorite Zeppelin songs (a difficult task, they are ALL awesome) named Led Zeppelin Best, and a playlist of my favorite Robert Plant songs, named Robert Plant Best … searching both Led Zeppelin and Robert Plant, these two playlists would come up in search, I could then add them in mix builder, hit play custom and it would shuffle the new cue with both of these playlists content in them.
