Feature Request: Plex Mix 2.0

Hello, I was wondering if there was any development right now into reinstating Plex mix?

Pacifically, how are you can take one track in your library and be able to create a mix that would enable a user to play similar tracks the way you use to on Plex?

With Plexamp, does Plex have enough information from AllMusic and MusicBrainz to allow this feature to be reinstated?

I understand that you have artist radio, album radio, genre radio, but when Plex Mix was around, it allowed the user to discover tracks in their library that had a unique relationship on like no other. I believe the team has started this with similar tracks now in the mobile apps for PlexAmp.

More clarity would be great. Thank you!

we’ve love to offer the feature again; at the moment, we don’t have the data needed to do it. it’s possible this will change in the future.

It would be great to see in the future. Thank you.

Perhaps you could somehow use acousticbrainz to make something magical happen? Or even somehow just incorporate it’s usage into the process to help create the mix to ensure tracks are similar in certain ways depending on what the mix is being made for. Acousticbrainz has so much information in it for tracks, so I’d imagine it’d only make mixes better.

To add on to this, you could just have plex scan a user’s music library (maybe with the analyse feature?) and store the acousticbrainz information alongside the library in a database with all of the information easily accessible for when generating a mix. Maybe incorporate it in similiar way to how the loudness leveling info is stored? So then the data from all users could be sort of combined in the cloud and easily retrieved for other users libraries. The nice thing is that you already have some musicbrainz integration going on with trackid and artistid for matching, so it would combine well with all of that stuff that is already incorporated, since its made to be used in this type of way.
