Exactly what I was thinking when I first saw the post.
And for the record... if Plex can tell me what I am going to add to my library, when my tastes run from putting "Noah (2014).mp4" on my system Thursday, and then 51 episodes of George of the Jungle, Tom Slick, and Super Chicken on Friday... well then, the Plex Pass is waaaay too cheap.
Google will do it for free sooner or later... :rolleyes:

CouchPotato has the same feature. If Plex could have the same setup, it could incorporate the Available soon, IMDB - Box Office, and the TOP DVD rentals optional on the front page. Maybe this calls for a new channel ??
Considering Plex is for media you own, and only you know what you’re about to buy, this feature makes no sense.
Considering this is an old thread. I still think this is a fantastic idea. Maybe just an area where we can still pull metadata for something that we are about to add. Yes, it is media that I personally own, and I have a bunch of people on my Server streaming. It would be nice to have a Coming Soon feature for times like recently… Black Friday, instead of texting/messaging people on what I bought and will be uploading soon, I could just add the thumbnail in a coming soon spot and they can see it on their own.

So I was looking for this feature as well. I was thinking something more along the lines of on the main page how it has “On Deck, Recently added TV, Recently added movies”, there could be an option to add “Hey, this is what I’m converting right now and should be available in a week”.
In the meantime I have a bit of a workaround - I made a new Library called Coming Soon and just rip previews/trailers from youtube and plop them in there. Whole process takes about 1 minute per trailer.
The above mentioned “make a text file into an mkv file” is confusing for people who don’t understand why the movie isn’t actually playing and it still shows up on the “Recently added” list. The youtube trailer in a special library method is about as easy and a lot less confusing to your family members who may or may not be so inclined as to know how this whole thing works (cough mom cough)
