I am using the plex image for ubuntu and have a (python) script that monitors for activity and turns off the tv when there is none. however plex apparently does not show its activity to the system. Is there a simple command that I can run to check if plex is playing content? thx
Not that I know the command you are looking for but there is a fantasic plug-in called Tautulli
It has so many features(and monitors streams in real time of course). You may be able to start there…
Hmm thats more involved and focused on the server. I just need something client-side tot check if it is playing visual content.
