Commercial Skipping is broken starting in 1.18.6.2368

It would be cool to have an “easy button” to process recordings for the last year.

I can confirm it’s working again. Thank you, team! It chops of the end of my shows, but that’s a different topic

If you’re on windows, drag and drop the files into MCEBuddy and point it to the same compskip.ini file - it will use them for comskip and process them as if it was done by plex itself.

I assume this requires a download of MCEBuddy? Not trying to be a butt… but that’s not part of the standard Plex install, right?

Yes it’s a separate install - http://mcebuddy2x.com/

You’ll need to choose what you want to transcode the videos into (or not, if you prefer) - it’s pretty intuitive.

I’m also using MCEBuddy thanks to WCTschumy’s recommendation. Couldn’t wait over 6 months for a fix. Maybe for the best though since I can do more with MCEBuddy and might not have bought it otherwise.

Awesome!! This explains it working in some situations and not others. I hate character limits!

This is fantastic news! Do we know how long it’ll be in beta before being pushed to the masses?

1.20.1 is now public

Hi, it is still broken for me. SD works but HD emissions fail consistently.
I use VBox and I am in Spain. It is the HD channels that make the commertial skip fail.
I have plex for Synology 1.20.1.3252 intel 64 bit

Please raise a new forum topic for this with server logs covering the time when the Plex commercial skipper fails - make sure you run with debug logging enabled on the server and restart the server to get fresh logs before reproducing the problem
