Commercials found, but not showing up in show XML

I have all recordings set to “Detect commercials and mark for skip”

I can see in the logs that Plex Commercial Skipper.exe is being run against the recording
(line 8546 of Plex Media Server.log).

I can see that commercials have been found and the EDL was built (line 10485).

But when I view the media’s XML, there are no commercial segments in it. (File removed)

I do not see a .EDL file next to the recording on my drive (I’m assuming it was cleaned up based on the log message on line 10485).

So…I run the file through Plex Commercial Skipper.exe via the command prompt via: C:\Users\SageAdmin>“C:\Program Files (x86)\Plex\Plex Media Server\Plex Commercia

It, in turn, generates the .edl, .log, .logo.txt, and .txt file as expected by Comskip and shows two commercial segments in the .edl file.

So…how come the commercial segments are not making their way into the show’s XML in PMC?

Just wanted to post a note here that I have been working with an employee to try to figure out what is happening. I noticed this same type of issue with several shows myself over the past few weeks. We have been looking at my logs and am currently running an experimental version with extra logging around the commercial logic after commercial skipper runs.

One interesting thing that I discovered last night was that I removed the shows causing me issues from my Library, did an Empty Trash for good measure, then did a scan of the library files as well. After 3 recordings of the 2 shows, I was noticing this issue with, 2 episodes of Last Man Standing and 1 episode of Big Bang Theory, Plex had commercial markers for the newly recorded episodes.

Following some guidance in another thread similar to this one, I updated my TV show library so that it is NOT stored at the base drive level (ex: D:). After updating my settings and recording a handful of new shows to the new TV library location (D:\Videos\TV), commercial skipping is working as I’d expected.
