Commercial interruptions in both Plex Movies and TV and Plex News make using these features beyond maddening. (The commercials in Web Shows are bearable but still…ugh.) The thing is, I LOVE having these features built into the Plex experience and know that monetizing these features is crucial to keep them around. With that said: I’m a Plex Lifetime subscriber that would GLADLY fork over a reasonable amount of $$ on a monthly basis for a “paid tier” to have ads removed.
Am I the only one?
I’m not bothered by the advertisements. There is quite a lot of good content available with Plex Movies and TV, and there’s going to be a trade-off for free-to-watch content.
Sometimes the volume differences can be a little maddening, but that’s the only complaint I have.
Maybe in the future you will see a no-ads tier, but I wouldn’t hold your breath. 
I wouldn’t mind the commercials if they worked correctly for me. Any commercial less than about 15 seconds, or ones that are from Plex work fine. All the others are constantly buffering. It has been so bad that I have 3 34 second ads and all totaled they took almost 5 minutes to get through. On a good day a 30 second one might take 45 to 60 seconds to finish. The movies themselves always play fine.
Personally I think these commercials render this service pointless. I’m someone who watches the odd movie over several days when I break for lunch etc and in 15 minutes of a film I’m made to watch the same 3 or 4 commercials at least 2 to 3 times. It seems these commercials are every 5 to 6 minutes and mostly advertise Plex which I’m already using and paying for. Why do I need to see commercials about something I’m already using. Then adding to that if you exit the movie whilst on a commercial, next time you want to resume it starts from the beginning. You forward to where you were and hey-presto you have to watch the commercials all over again. The same 3 pretty much. Can’t see personally that many people will use this service in it’s current state. Shame as has good potential.
Plex commercials are maddening! They are 3 times the volume of my program. I should sue Plex for hearing loss! Not only that, but watching 4 commericals for Thermador in a row is enough to drive someone nuts!
