For those of us with very large movie collections, it can sometimes be a pain to find something to watch - sure we have filters but it’s not very intuitive or fun (which is what Plex is all about.)

If we could subscribe to community playlists, and then these playlists show inside our client the exact movies we have collected from it, it would make the overall ‘finding a movie to watch’ experience a whole lot easier…

IMDB Lists (Top 250 All time, Top Christmas Movies, Top Samurai movies, Top Sc-Fi movies, etc.)

So when it’s Christmas time, you don’t have to google search a christmas movies to watch with your family, you just find the playlists (which is community managed and has tons of subscribers within the Plexosphere) and pick any Christmas movie you want…

Reviving this because apparently my suggestion of making smart collections that syncs with lists on IMDb is related to a topic about playlists made years before smart collections were even a thing so my suggestion was closed.

My suggestion is to be able to create a smart collection based on a list on IMDb (like for example Essential Giallo Movies )
