Wouldn’t it be lovely to be able to introduce built in features to better handle anime without having to customize the scanners etc ourselves, Such as a library option for anime that will automatically understand 100 eps+ in a season or automatically use agents dedicated to anime content.
I think that would be amazingly nice. I would love to see it implemented.
Uh, I hate to say it, but some TV shows already handle much more than 100 episodes in a single season. I have all of the original Dark Shadows (1966) and there are at least 3 of the listed 12 seasons (Seasons 1, 6 and 7) with well over 100 episodes… Season 6 has 237 according to http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=73599&lid=7
Any soap opera would also likely have a lot more than 100+ episodes, although I don’t know many people that are collecting them… DS is about the only one I’ve heard of…
That said, there are a couple of Anime agents, too, aren’t there? I know I have one running now… AniDB is the one I have. I think it’s a 3rd party but it works for the limited anime I have in my library.
I used to use the MAL Agent, but it appears it is no longer supported and stopped working as of recently.
Really unfortunate because MAL is a GREAT Anime site, like IMDB for Anime.
looking for something to replace the agent…
if plex could just understand that E101 is episode 101 not season 1 episode 1, it would solve a lot of problems. tvdb is usually pretty good with most things, its plex screwing up its parsing of the filenames that is at fault. good luck with getting them to fix a bug though
