Hi all,
I have a Plex Pass on my Hosted PMS. If I invite other users, with a Plex Free Account, to use my PMS do they inherit any benefits of my Plex Pass?
TIA

Nope, only those in your house have that permission. They cracked down on server sharing.
If I may make a minor correction here?
Your PlexPass provides you with Hardware Transcoding capability on the server.
Anyone streaming from you will benefit from this because you, as server owner, are in control of whether it’s used or not.
Thank you.
So my users don’t get to watch any of the Plex Movies and TV Shows.
EDIT: Or watch Plex on Mobile Devices.
Aren’t these free to everyone as they’re ad-supported?
No, they’d need to pay to unlock on their own account.
Free users need to buy the app (which unlocks it).
This is done to help offset the cost of app development and maintenance.
PlexPass users are already supporting development and maintenance of these apps through their PlexPass.
I thought that if you are a free user then you are limited to 1 minute’s worth of streaming from a Plex server on the phone only. My “friends” watch things off of my Plex server to their TVs without a PlexPass. I always thought it odd to want to stream an HD movie on a 6-in phone when I have a 65-in flat panel to watch it on…
A TV is not a “mobile” device. Only the Plex apps on Android mobile and iOS (phones and tablets) require unlocking. All other apps (like those on TVs) are freely available.
The streaming sources directly from plex.tv are ad-supported and thus don’t require any payment (except your patience to sit through the ads).
@OttoKerner, pretty much my point. Look I know that Plex is trying to monetize the PlexPass thing apparently through two methods - PMS users and people who use the Plex app on the phone. Fine. However the “I’m a PMS and my friends use my PMS through their TVs/browser/Chromecast/whatever” is essentially free for my friends. After all what idio^h^h^h^h eh person would watch a full length, HD movie or TV series on a tiny phone screen at least enough to justify the cost of a PlexPass? Ok, ok them youngin yutes perhaps. Thank you yutes for footing the bill for the rest of us! And I have a PlexPass because I run a PMS but I rarely, if ever, have the urge to watch any TV/Movies on my small cell phone when I have large desktop monitors and a 65-in flat-panel TV. About the only time I do is when I’m waiting say in a doctor’s office and say “Oh wait! I forget! Since I have a PlexPass I can watch the next episode of on my phone”.
