Confused how streaming works

Hi Folks,

Please excuse my ignore but I am new to Plex. I have installed Plex Server on to my Synology NAS and it has picked up my existing movies etc. I want to access this via the Plex Client (Windows, iOS, Android etc.) but when I load the iOS app it states streaming is limited to 1 minute for free.

Is this correct? I thought access to your own media was free?

The Plex app on iOS and Android mobile is not free. (all other platforms are free)
You can unlock it for a one-time fee in the app store.
